Decision made by the fostering or adoption panel

If applicants are unhappy with the decision reached after the fostering and adoption panel they may wish to lodge an appeal. This should be in writing and sent to the Director of Social Work and Health within 20 working days of being advised of the agency decision. The Director will appoint a panel of suitably qualified people who have not been involved with the application to hear the appeal. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the appeal in writing.

Guidance relating to the panel appeal procedure is available in the Panel Appeal Procedure (20 KB PDF) document.
