Decision made by the Adoption and Permanence Panel

When a completed assessment has been presented to the panel and the applicants are unhappy with the decision reached, they have 28 days in which to lodge an appeal. This should be in writing and sent to the Director of Social Work and Health. The Director will appoint a panel of suitably qualified people who have not been involved with the application to hear the appeal. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the appeal in writing.

Guidance relating to the panel appeal procedure is available in the Panel Appeal Procedure (20 KB PDF) document.
